General information

Pearberry pear variety

The perfumy pear is a high-yielding culture. It is unpretentious in care, resistant to temperature extremes and is planted in regions with frosty winters. The common diseases of horticultural crops (such as scab) do not threaten the variety.

Description of pear varieties

Characteristic variety

Variety Dukhmyanaya is a tall trees. The maximum height of the pillar is reached in the first year, after which the tree grows with side branches. Late-year culture differs mixed type of fruiting.

The culture is obliged by the qualities to frost-resistant grade Aleksandrovka.

The first fruits appear on the tree in the 4th year of active growth. Average yield: 20 tons per 1 ha. Resistance to winter is average, and with additional shelter the culture endures long frosts. Used as shelter peat or compost.

Tree description

A perfume pear grows rapidly if favorable conditions are created. The pear needs space, otherwise the branches quickly break. The tree blooms with white buds that thickly cover the branches.

According to the description, the height of the tree is 5-6 m. The crone is dense, the leaves are dark green. The surface of the plate is glossy. The shape of the leaves is round, slightly elongated.

Pear is appreciated for its taste. The flesh of the pear is white, juicy and moderately oily. The aroma of the fruit is average, and the taste is sweet and sour. The rind is green, closer to the time of maturation, it turns yellow (a characteristic blush appears).

The fruits do not spoil for a long time, so they can be transported and stored in a dark, cool room.

Landing rules

When choosing a place for planting seedlings should consider the light mode. The pear pear tree is planted in a well-lit area, but in the shade with proper care, it can grow well. The leaves of the tree are undemanding to light, and the fruits ripen by the end of summer. Sunlight is needed for a tree only during flowering, therefore it is impossible to make permanent shelters for culture.

Planted annual or biennial seedling.

Soil requirements:

  • loose structure
  • well drained
  • with good throughput (water will not stagnate and lead to rotting of the roots).

After selecting the area, the landing pit is dug. Fertilizers are applied to it. When planting, the root neck of the seedling should be 3-4 cm higher than the soil level. The seedling is sprinkled with soil and watered abundantly (at least 4 buckets of water).

Plant Care

Do not forget to fertilize the tree

The main care needs an adult tree, which is beginning to bear fruit. The first 4 years the seedling is watered, and the soil in the root layer is loosened. To stimulate the growth of a young tree it is impossible to pour it - an excess of water will lead to rotting of the roots. The ripening period is late for the variety, therefore the pear needs a particularly intensive watering in the summer. The soil is watered as it dries (a solid soil clod is formed).

Fertilizers are applied from the 4th year. Organic fertilizers are used every 2 years. Potash fertilizers are made every season. Important for tree pruning. It is carried out in early spring before the first ovaries appear. Old, dry or broken branches are pruned. Slices are treated with disinfectant solution.

Common diseases

According to the description, the culture is resistant to scab, but may suffer from other fungal diseases.

Prone to wood rust. It is a disease that spreads rapidly between horticultural crops. Spores of the fungus can be transmitted from apple trees or other trees growing near the pear. Launched disease is characterized by the defeat of shoots, leaves and fruits.

Disease control

To combat rust, timely preventive maintenance is needed: in the early spring, spraying of the tree with chemical solutions is carried out. Bordeaux liquid and lime broth is used.

Sulfur preparations (used when the tree is already sick) help to cope with the disease of the pear. Purchased funds also shows good results: Chorus or Topoz. If the disease spreads quickly, urgent cutting of diseased branches is necessary. So be able to stop the disease. You can not harvest from a tree that continues to hurt.

Pear "Dukhmyanaya": description of the variety, photo

Given the cost of pear fruit on the market, many owners are looking for a good productive pear variety that will produce tasty fruit with soft pulp. Today we will discuss the pear “Dukhmyanaya”, present a brief description of the variety, and also talk about the application.

Breeding history

Before us is a Belarusian variety, which was obtained as a result of crossing Aleksandrovka and Klapp Favorite pears. Selection work was carried out by a team of breeders: Mikhnevich, Myalik, Putsilo and Konovalova.

The variety was included in the State Register of Belarus in 1999.

Fruit Description

Pears have a standard shape, painted in a salad color with a pink side. Average weight - 130-140 g.

It is worth noting that the shape of the fruit is more oval, does not have contrasting transitions between the upper narrow and lower wide part. You will be interested to know about such representatives of the pear as “Bryansk Beauty”, “Dessert Rossoshanskaya”, “Krymskaya Honey”, “Hera”, “Krasulya”, “Kokinskaya”, “Nursery”, “Fairytale”, “Duchess”, “ Northerner "," Bergamot "," Rogneda "," Veles "," Tenderness "," Century "," Chinese ". The flesh is colored in the usual white color, slightly oily. The taste of the fruit is sweet, with a noticeable sourness. Have a high tasting score.

Lighting Requirements

Pear though can be planted in the penumbra, as the leaf plates are not very demanding to light, but during the flowering and the formation of the fruit, you need a good light day and direct sunlight on flowers and fruits.

For this reason, it is recommended to plant a tree in an open area. It is especially important that in the first 3-4 years, the tree should receive not only a sufficient amount of fertilizer, but also have access to sunlight.

Soil requirements

For plants suitable loose well-drained substrate that does not trap moisture. At the same time, it is necessary to add a little clay to the soil, respectively, after it has been added, the ground should also be good for passing moisture.

Important! When planting, the root neck should protrude 3 cm above the substrate.

The variety is samobzhetlodnym, so planting it "alone" on the site does not make sense - you do not get the fruit without another pollinator pear.

This information is very important, since no insects will be able to conduct pollination, if there is not a pear of another variety nearby, which can act as a pollinator.

If neighbors grow pears near your plot, then it is worth wondering if they can play the role of a pollinator.

Important! Such varieties as “Fun”, “Just Mary” and “Lagodnaya” are suitable for pollination.

You can only be pleased with the fruits of a four-year-old tree, because before that you will either receive empty flower or the ovary will fall off.

You should not make a large amount of fertilizer or water growth stimulator, because earlier than 4 years, you still will not see the fruit.

Disease and Pest Resistance

The owners who grow this variety, note a good resistance to various bacterial diseases, as well as scab. However, a variety of fungal diseases, however, is affected.

First of all, it is worth buying preparations to protect the tree from rust. A fungal disease, for which the variety has no immunity, can quickly occupy a tree, affecting not only the leaves, but also the fruits.

Rust and other fungi can be fought with Bordeaux liquid 1%, or strong chemical agents can be used. It is recommended to apply fungicides even if coniferous trees grow on your site.

As for pests, the variety has no particular resistance. For this reason, try to spray the tree with folk solutions with a small lesion, or chemical mixtures - with a strong one.

Advantages and disadvantages

Next, we list the strengths and weaknesses of this popular Belarusian variety.

  1. The variety has a high and regular yield, so it can be used in large farms that allow products for sale.
  2. It has excellent keeping quality and does not lose its shape during transportation.
  3. Versatility in terms of use allows the resulting crop to be used both fresh and allowed for conservation.
  4. There is resistance to bacterial diseases, which facilitates care.
  1. The variety is self-productive, therefore it cannot be planted without other pollinator varieties.
  2. Average winter hardiness makes it impossible to plant a pear in the northern regions.
  3. The high height of the tree will not allow for high-quality pruning or fully harvesting.

You have learned about another beautiful pear variety that, although it cannot be the first in your garden, however, has enough advantages to become quite popular. Buy seedlings only in nurseries to get a good young tree, which will not get sick and in the shortest possible time will form a developed crown.

The perfumy pear is a high-yielding culture. It is unpretentious in care, resistant to temperature extremes and is planted in regions with frosty winters. The common diseases of horticultural crops (such as scab) do not threaten the variety.

Description of pear varieties

Description and characteristics of the variety

Variety pears "Dukhmyanaya" is a fairly large trees, the height of which can reach five meters. The plant is characterized by the presence of a dense and pyramidal crown.

Fruits leveled, pear-shaped, of medium size, weighing 120-140 g. The main color of the surface of the fruit is green with a brick-red striped blush. The flesh is white, juicy and oily. The taste of ripe fruit is good. Ripe fruits are characterized by a pleasant, sweet-sour taste.

The fruits of Dukhmyanaya pear varieties fully ripen in the second decade of August or early September, which is due to the different soil and climatic conditions of the growing regions.

Rust protection of garden plantings

Rust, or Gymnosporangium sabinae, is quite common in home gardening and a very harmful fungal disease not only of apple trees, but also of pears. Pear plantations of Dukhmyanaya variety need timely and competent preventive measures, which reduce the risk of damage to fruit plantations with rust to almost zero. It should be remembered that the high resistance of the pear to scab is not a reason to assume resistance to rust damage, so it is very important to treat fruit plants with modern highly effective chemical remedies.

The fungal microflora, which causes pear rust, can winter very well in the greenery of juniper and other conifers. Therefore, if there are plants with pseudo leaves on the backyard or garden plot, it is recommended to pay special attention to protecting the garden plantations from rust.

With a significant development of fungal infection in pear trees, not only the foliage of the fruit plantations is affected, but also the fruits and shoots. Affected pear trees do not form a growth, and the educated fruits are underdeveloped and fall before the onset of the stage of removable maturity.

Experts and experienced gardeners advise to carry out preventive spraying of pear trees with a 1% solution of Bordeaux liquid or use 0.5% lime-sulfur decoction to treat fruit plantations. Sulfur-based products provide the best results against rust. In the early spring, the use of the systemic drug "Chorus" is recommended. At the end of July - spraying of fruit plantations "Pokor", "Topaz", "Topsin-M", "Byleton", "Delan" or "Fundazol".

Reviews and recommendations gardeners

Pear variety "Dukhmyanaya", according to the estimates and reviews of gardeners, is one of the most productive, but has a relatively average level of winter hardiness. The stated data on the good resistance of the variety to diseases and fungal microflora, according to gardeners and summer residents, fully correspond to reality.

The variety is characterized by the presence of a mixed type of fruiting, and the harvest can be used universally.. Fruit trees are unpretentious, but prefer to grow on sandy, sodic or loamy soils. Experienced gardeners recommend liming every six years on acid soils.

Much better known is the stunted varieties of time. These include:

  • Mellin. Italian variety obtained as a result of the hybridization of Bea Clerjo and Williams. It is a stunted tree with a compact crown and large (average weight - 220–230 g), ovate-pear-shaped, greenish-yellow fruits, when fully matured they acquire a yellow-bronze, with light tan color. The flesh is sweet and aromatic. Mellin fruits ripen in late September-early October and are well stored for 3-4 months. The main disadvantage of the variety is high sensitivity to lack of moisture.
  • Williams Rouge Delbara. Spontaneous, anthrozitovy clone of Williams variety, included in the State Register of the Russian Federation in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea. Differs in the weak force of growth and the compact sizes of a rounded pyramidal krone. The fruits are large, pear-shaped, with a thin, delicate skin that is completely covered with a maroon blush. The flesh is juicy, melting, with an excellent sweet-sour taste and a bright nutmeg flavor. Williams red fruits begin to clean in late August. They reach full ripeness in 15–20 days. Pears of this variety have satisfactory transportability and are able to maintain their taste until November. They are used for fresh consumption and all types of processing.
  • August dew. Summer variety of pears, bred in the All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics and Breeding of Fruit Plants and Zoned in the Central Black Earth Region. It is a stunted tree with a thick, drooping crown. The fruits of the Augustus dew are short pear-shaped. During the period of removable maturity, usually occurring in mid-August, they are colored green, which after one or two weeks of storage changes to a greenish-yellow, with a faint red tan and a large number of skin points. The flesh of the fruit is white, fine-grained, with a sweet-sour taste, estimated by experts at 4.5 points. The average yield of the variety is 156 c / ha.

Winter hardy varieties

When choosing a pear variety for gardeners in most regions of our country, its winter hardiness is a decisive factor. The easiest way to a strong decrease in temperature is transferred by the following representatives of this culture:

  • Lada,
  • Northerner,
  • Granddaughter,
  • Siberian,
  • Nevelichka
  • Krasnoyarsk large
  • Apple-shaped.

The early summer variety included in the State Register of the Central Black Earth, Middle Volga and Central regions, with medium sized standard trees. They bring the first pears for 3 year after budding. The fruits of Lada are obovate, smooth. Their weight rarely exceeds 110 grams. Peel is citric, with reddish tan and light rust at the base of the stem. The pulp is sour-sweet, fragrant, with a fine-grained structure.

The fruits of the Lada have a universal purpose.

Under favorable conditions, up to 50 kg of pears of universal purpose, practically not transferring transportation, are collected from one plant. At 0 ° their shelf life reaches 60 days.

The Lada variety is highly resistant not only to low temperatures, but also to other vagaries of the weather, as well as to the main diseases of the pear, including scab and bacterial burn.

The pear is good to taste, but it is worth to perederzhat it on the tree for several days, it becomes to taste like potatoes

High-yield variety of Krasnoyarsk breeding, not inferior in cold resistance to semi-cultural forms, but significantly superior to their taste. Zoned in Siberia and the North-West region.

Nevelichkas trees are medium tall, well tolerated by thickened planting. Fruits are small, almost round. Peel greenish, with brownish-red tan. The flesh is sweet and sour, aromatic, fine-grained, with a high content of juice.

Fruit weight Nevelichki does not exceed 46 g

Fruits Nevelichki removed in September. When overripe they immediately crumble. On time, plucked pears are well transported and stored for about a month. They are eaten fresh and canned.

The first pears Nevelichka brings no earlier than 6 years of cultivation. Resistance to blotch and scab - relative.

Lezhki varieties

Pear has a unique quality. During storage, its fruits do not lose their qualities, but significantly improve them. Summer and autumn varieties are sufficient for ripening a few weeks, and winter varieties need more than a month to fully ripen.

The trees of this variety are tall, wide-pyramidal. Fruits are olive, with rusty stains, weighing about 140 g. Oily pulp, melting when eaten, with a high content of juice. Usually, pears of this variety are deposited no earlier than the end of September.

The conference has many advantages. Among them:

  • high marketability and good taste of pears,
  • long shelf life (up to 6 months at about 0 °),
  • rapid onset of fruiting (when used as a quince stock, the first crop is already harvested at 3 years after vaccination),
  • yield (up to 21.5 tons per hectare),
  • self-fertility.

But the variety has its drawbacks. The most significant of them are:

  • poor winter hardiness
  • susceptibility to thermal burn green parts of the plant,
  • lack of immunity to infections.

May Day

Winter variety recommended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth region. In a cooled room, its fruits do not deteriorate until May.

May Day trees sredneroslye, with a narrow, compact crown. Pear-shaped fruits weigh 180–220 g and at the time of removable maturity, which usually occurs in mid-September, are colored green with a faint tan. Juicy pulp contains a small amount of granulations. Taste is sweet-sour, tart, with bright aroma. Experts estimate it at 4.1 points.

Pervomaiskaya - one of the most sootki pear varieties

The first pears May Day brings in 4-5 year of cultivation. It is immune to septoria and scab, and also tolerates low temperatures well. The average yield is 16.3 t / ha.

New selection

Breeding new varieties of pears takes quite a lot of time. It is possible to get the first harvest of the fruits of this crop only 3–4 years after planting, and sometimes later. A few more years she will need to fully disclose all their qualities. But despite all the difficulties, breeders are constantly working to create new forms of pears. Over the past decade, more than 15 varieties have been made to the State Register of the Russian Federation. Including:

  • Abafeth Autumn, table grade pears, obtained by experts of the Crimean Fruit Company by artificial selection from the population of Abbat Fetel. It is a medium-sized tree with a willow crown and greenish-yellow, with a light pinkish tan, fruits weighing about 200 g. The flesh is very juicy, sweet and fragrant. Approximately 40 tons of pears are transported from one hectare of planting Abefeta, which carry transport well. Variety allowed for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. According to the organizer, it tolerates drought and winter cold in the conditions of the steppe zone and is resistant to scab and powdery mildew. The first fruiting of Abafeta usually falls on the second or third year after disembarking to a permanent place.
  • Alexandra. Late-summer variety, included in the State Register as a culture recommended for cultivation in the Middle Volga region. It is characterized by trees of medium size and one-dimensional, pear-shaped fruit, painted in greenish-yellow, with brownish-red tan color. The flesh is juicy, with a sweet, spicy taste and unobtrusive aroma. About 8 tons of pears are harvested from one hectare of Alexandra plantings.
  • Bryansk beauty. Late-summer variety obtained at the Kokinsky stronghold in the 90s of the last century and recommended for cultivation in the Central Region in 2010. Despite such a small age, he had already gained popularity among gardeners due to such qualities as:
    • resistance to frost (up to -35 °),
    • tolerance to pests and infectious diseases,
    • oily consistency of juicy pulp,
    • pleasant aroma and sweet taste
    • attractive appearance of large, golden, with a light burgundy blush pears.
  • Beauty Zhiguli. The breeding variety of the Research Institute of Horticulture and Medicinal Plants Zhiguli Gardens, zoned in 2018 in the Middle Volga region. It is a medium grown tree. Its greenish-yellow, red-tanned fruits are harvested in early September. They reach full ripeness after short ripening at room temperature. Juicy, semi-oily pears Krasa Zhiguli are sweet and fragrant. Plants of this variety are easily tolerated by the vagaries of the weather, and also rarely suffer from diseases and pests. In addition, they are well compatible with all types of rootstocks.

About the Bryansk beauty I would like to add the following: it is a must-have sort of variety. In our area you need to pick off in the district of August 15 and clean up for storage in the cellar. Somewhere in a week you can eat, the pulp is already softened, but the color is still green. Two weeks after harvest, the pears turn yellow, the flesh becomes very tender, melting and tasty (that's when she gains her legitimate 4.7 points for taste) and for about a week they “live”, then the pulp begins to boil and the pears “flow”. Total, in my conditions, three weeks of storage, two-for consumption. If the storage is cooled, you can probably extend the storage to 2 months.

What varieties of pears should be planted together

Most pear varieties are self-productive. For the formation of ovaries they need the presence of pollinator blossoming at the same time. Moreover, the distance between them should not exceed 50 m. Partially self-fertile varieties are also best planted with a pollinator. This will significantly increase the yield and improve the quality of the fruit.
