Ordinary edible waves, like their white variety, have a very original pattern on the cap in the form of waves diverging in all directions. The description of the fungus mushrooms is in many ways similar to whitefish, only the cap color is pink or yellow, the leg is slightly lighter and stronger than the white counterparts. Like many other lamellar ones, these mushrooms are not used for food in the West, but they are extremely popular in Russia.

What do volushka mushrooms look like?

Platefish shaggy or wavy in the common people has many names: volnushki, volvianki, Volzhanka, volvianitsy and volnouhi - and the whole appearance closely fits to all previous species with which it has a great affinity.

Familiarize yourself with the photo and description of the wave: the main difference between a shaggy plate is in the hairy, rather noticeable kosmah, located on the edge around the cap and sometimes quite long. In our places, this mushroom is quite rare, and more often comes across in the more northern provinces of Russia. It is attributed by many scientists to the number of poisonous, especially considered as such in France and in the Czech Republic. But in our country it is consumed completely harmless, however, in Sweden it is often harvested and consumed without the slightest harm in food instead of rye.

The place of growth of this fungus is certainly in the forests on sandy and siliceous soil, most often under birch trees, and it is found simultaneously with the previous species.

What are the windmills and how do they differ from other mammalian fungi? Their caps are no more than 1.5 to 10 cm wide, first convex and then concave, but always with edges turned inside. The whole hat of this mushroom, and mainly its outskirts, is covered with thick hairs hanging from the ends, in the form of rather long faces, which gives the mushroom a very beautiful look. However, in old age, these cosms become barely noticeable. And the description of the wave becomes similar to all the other plastinics.

The color of the cap is pale pink, sometimes casting white, but more often yellow or grayish. Moreover, it is almost always speckled alternately with dark and light, wide and circular stripes, which, however, does not constitute the characteristic properties of the fungus, because it depends on the tree leaves falling on it, why such painting often happens on other mushrooms of the same breed with a shaggy plastinic. The flesh of the cap of the same pale pink color, rather thick and dry.

The agale plates are of the same color with a cap, but always slightly paler, and the milky juice of the fungus is very sharp, yellow-white and not changing due to contact with air.

The leg is also somewhat paler against the cap and generally more or less yellowish, with this dense, but mostly smooth, but sometimes, however, spotted with slight dark indentations, rarely hollow, and reaches height not higher than 5 cm.

On the palate, edible mushrooms deserve different approval. Some find it not quite wonderful, others like it. In its raw state, it is very eater, but when boiled it loses this causticity, although its natural acuteness still remains somewhat. As for the bitterness, very noticeable in the raw mushroom, it almost completely disappears from cooking. The smell of both raw and boiled fungus is pleasant, earthy.

Description of the waves

In different regions, this mushroom is differently called: Volzhanka, Volnyanka, Rubella. It belongs to conditionally edible mushrooms, therefore, a thorough heat treatment is necessary before eating.

Wavy concentric circles are observed on the surface - they gave the name to the mushroom. The hat is distinguished by downward and slightly fluffed edges. In young representatives of this species, it has a convex shape, which eventually becomes even and gradually deepens towards the center.

Due to the strong and dense white flesh, the waves are able to keep their shape during long transportation. After the rain grow to large sizes within three days. On the territory of our country grow in birch groves or places where these trees grow. The fact is that between the fungus and birch there is a symbiotic relationship, which results in the formation of mycorrhiza, which is necessary for both sides.

Contraindications

These mushrooms have a sufficient number of contraindications due to the fact that they are conditionally edible.

  • Children under 12,
  • Pregnant
  • Nursing
  • With pancreatitis.

IMPORTANT: Carefully and consciously approach the collection of mushrooms, as there is a high probability of mixing up the mushroom with the inedible and get poisoned. Better to protect yourself.

Description of mushrooms

Not every newcomer who decides to become a quiet hunter for the gifts of the forest knows what the fungus looks like. Photos and characteristics of the plant can be a good help before starting to collect lower plants.

The main difference between white hair (white hair, white hair, etc.) from other species is the color of the cap and the density of the body. The upper part of the plant is white, with a slight darkening in the center, there is no concentric pattern on the cap of the white fungus. At the beginning of growth, it has a densely dense, convex shape. Over time, the appearance of the cap changes, becomes flat, with a small recess in the center, up to 6 cm in diameter. The upper body has thin adherent plates, they are endowed with white color.

The shape of the legs is normal, cylindrical, grows up to 2 cm in diameter and up to 4 cm in height. A small fungus has a leg without cavities; during the growth period, the structure of this part of the body changes, and emptiness appears. At breakage, the product releases a bitter milky juice, it is quite fragrant, does not change color when oxidized in air. White volnushki grow in well-lit places, more often they can be found at the entrance to the forest.

Another representative of the genus Mlechnik is a pink volvushka. This attractive mushroom is found in forests infrequently. Unlike the white fellow, the pink wave settles in shaded and damp places. In cooking, the wave is used after heat treatment. It belongs to the conditionally edible representatives of the second category. Most often it is marinated and salted.

The diameter of the cap reaches 12-14 cm, its color is pleasantly pink. Young mushrooms differ convex hat, with the growth of its shape changes to a flat, with a small depression. The hat of the big waggon is similar to a funnel, its upper part is decorated with small villi. They are located in circles. From the bottom of the cap there are thin plates of cream color. This part of the body is very fragile. When cut, the forest product exudes a mild tarry aroma, the taste of raw body is bitter. Milky pink can be found around edible mushroom families, the plant loves the birch neighborhood.

Leg shape is normal, cylindrical, grows up to 2 cm in diameter and up to 4 cm in height.

The first wave of Mlechnikov appears in the second half of July, the second batch begins to break through in August. At the beginning of the Indian summer pink waves bear fruit most of all.

An interesting representative of the Mlechnikov is a pale cloud, otherwise this mushroom is called a gray dried bread, some people call it a subrader. This mushroom grows on moss, under birch trees. The white milky sap of the plant, when released into the air, oxidizes and turns gray. When you click on the body of the cloud, faded dark spots appear. The upper body has a wavy appearance; the cap grows from 3 to 8 cm in diameter. The cylindrical leg has a void inside.
